With all the awesome power that the monster 22R EFI Turbo motor made, Toyota knew that they must make a larger oversize flange with oversize bolts to handle the added torque :psss:

All 86-87 turbo rear t-cases and diff flanges use the 4 1/2" flange and 11mm driveline bolts.
Also, only 88 V6 rear drivelines use the same set up.

But in 89, and up thur '04 [including the Tundra V8], Toyota went back to the 4" flange and 10mm bolts that were first introduced in '84. I guess they realized now good the orginal really was.
