That wire goes to one of those VSC things or whatever they are that are on top of the valve cover. On my 86 4runner I had one and it was at the very back and it was around the #3 cyl.
Im guessing like WT said its just for a differnt motor or whatever.
Is yours a cali motor or a federal motor?
Mine was a cali so that could be why. EIther way if you start it, I HIGHLY DOUBT that it will do anything with it unplugged.
