Every sleeve repair will eventualy leak
![Ooops! :_oops:](https://board.marlincrawler.com/Smileys/marlin/_oops.gif)
This is due in part to the crankshaft end movement and the installition of the sleeve. Even after carefull installition of the sleeve, I still had .010" runout.
Get rid of the sleeve

Polish the hub with 400-600 grit sandpaper and install the seal in a differance location.
This can be done one of two ways.
1. Using a belt sander, I grind off the leading edge of the seal so that when it is installed, it will bottom out and sit deeper in the housing. The seal will contact the hub in a deeper, unused location.
2. Using the seal as a template, I carefully cut a circle out of thick gasket material and install it in the bore so that when the seal is installed, it will sit further out on the hub.
And in closing, never replace the seal on the engine. Always remove the oil pump, replace the housing o ring, and install the seal using a flat metal disk. Never hammer directly on the seal

Always use sealent on the threads of the top oil pump bolt. It goes thur the timing cover and can also seep oil.
