I ground off the little tabs that were welded on the back of this thing...lots of extra metal. I got tired and quit. I got the other end capped off as well.
cut out some plate to fill in the inner ends, and tapped them in.
this was a PITA to keep it from falling
and since I have the hair spiked today, I can't wear a welding hood
so I threw on some sunglasses and tacked them all the way around.
I think I'm done for today. I have no more steel to work with.
