It's a shame too because guys are getting serious power out of the Chevys with simple mods. There are some really quick trucks out there but I've seen too many blown 4L60's and it scares me away. And not to mention the piston slap problems which is stupid. And the guys running LS2 in GTO's and Vettes are getting sick power with little work.
I personally think the GM LS motors are a superior design to the Toyota 5.7. I'm a bottom line kinda guy and as far as I'm concearned it doesn't take 4 valves, 4 cams and 3 timing chains to make 380hp outta 5.7 liters with only 15-18mpg. . Yeah, its cool and all and I like Toyotas but that does not impress me. GM can exceed that with pushrods and 2 valves per cyl all the while getting better MPG and there is enough room in the Chevy to tune it out much further.
