Re: IFS......... what now??

Nothing will help when you jump a truck, soon there will be other issues like the frame to cab mounts busting through the bottom of the cab. I've run IFS and for the most part not jumped it just for kicks and have yet to break my frontend. I almost have 200,000 miles on my current rig and had another 86 with about 150,000 and my 4Runner had 250,000 on it. That is 600,000 miles total and here is my frontend carnage and Regular maintenance list, yes I can remember it all since it hasn't been much...

1 broken inner axle
1 broken Rancho upper A-arm
1 broken Rancho 9000 shock
1 upper A-arm rebuild

That it, sure I don't constantly hammer my trucks but I have as required and I have taken my IFS trucks places people say you shouldn't. The IFS front is much weaker than the straight axle no doubt but if you take care of one it will serve you well, if you intend on beating the snot out of one it will let you down..... but so will a straight axle.
