Wouldn't think silicone on the threads would make it that hard to remove...  Red Loctite, maybe 

But if you are breaking tools, maybe better tools are in order? Not trying to be a smart  , ...  Most of my tools are Craftsman (bought my original set 40 years ago), and breakage has not been a problem. I've used cheater pipes on the ratchets quite a few times -- gives you a lot more leverage.
