Unless it's broken you don't need to rebuild the case. I just pulled apart an 85 forward shift and an 88 top shift to install my 4.7s and get ready for my duals and both cases looked brand new inside. I was going to rebuild the cases but after seeing the insides I can save the money for other things (Longfield output).
