I may be the only person in the world that feels this way, but...
He was found not guilty by a jury of his peers...that means, even though he may be as guilty as a dog in an ice box, he is innocent under the law. The law doesn't make concession for a flaccid prosecution team or a con-man on the defense. I may never understand how you can be found guilty of wrongful death when you have been found not guilty of murder...it scares the crap out of me that the court of public opinion can have such an effect on someones life.
I agree with you. Unfortunately criminal courts and civil courts are two different beasts. The fine he was ordered to pay came from civil court.
Another way our JUSTICE system is messed.
