I make them out of 3/8" by 1-1/2" flat bar. For the front I just weld a piece of flatbar on the inside of the shaclkle on the spring side to compensate for the width difference from the frame to the spring.
i did the same as above but i machined spacers to take up the differeance inbetween the spring.
