Just drop the pan. Theres nothing tricky you have to do to get it out, its nice. I would just get a new gasket. And as far as I know you can only get quark gaskets for these motors. I tried getting one of those blue rubber ones from Fel-Pro but they don't offer it. Of course I have a 20R and that could be why.
But quark gaskets arent all that bad if you know how to properly install them.
