I just had the white balance on auto mode most of the time because we have both incandescent and fluorescent lighting in the house (in the above picture, the incandescent bulb was directly above the subject, while the fluorescent lighting was in the background in the kitchen).
I have not learned how to set the white balance, but I know it has that option. I will learn that soon!
