i dont think i can mount front to back if im doing a u bolt flip kit and plan on putting them on top of the axle away from "rock attacks"

you can mount the shocks like stock, put the mounts on the axle not on the top but on the uper sides like 10 and 2 o-clook and inborard them (move them closer to the center) like 2 or 3 inches in on each side, i did that and it works hela good. but they will have to stick up throug your bed.
