its not that big a deal. Try to avoid it. As for the leathers, they are mostly for spark and spatter protection, not for UV protection. Just wear a long sleeve t-shirt next time, and you'll be fine.
I weld in whatever i am wearing at the time. Usually shorts and a tshirt. I have had welders' tan before. It doesn't bother me, as long as I have gloves and a hood on.
