I hate to say this but..................................................................
I know there are no Hammers like
the Hammers.
But the last three runs I've done have all been within 2 hours from my house, and I'll tell you what, for someone who has spent his whole life going on runs in which the majority of them are at least 6 hours away, wow, what a change.
To be able to get to the trail head and have camp setup within 2 hrs from my driveway just blows my mind as to why I even bother traveling a combined 12+ hours just to wheel, typically on my schedule, less than 24 hours total.
Wheeling locally automatically grants me 8 hours of additional wheeling/relaxing/campfire. ![Shocking!! :shocking:](https://board.marlincrawler.com/Smileys/marlin/shocking.gif)
Now I know that not everyone is near the Hammers, or near Rubicon. I've got a great list of trails all within 2 hours to my driveway so I consider myself lucky.
Those who live within 2 hrs of the Hammers or Rubicon, seriously, you don't understand how great your life is
