couple things that helped me when i did my longs was the fact that i was rebuilding the full axle at the time. i checked the clearance of the bell for the larger birfield...i didn't need to clearance luckily. i didn't tighten down the trinion bearings and set the preload until after i clearanced the birfield...i swear it was a learning experience. my first knuckle rebuild was a lot of putting it together, forgetting something tripple checking and fixing it. i'm pretty sure it would only take a couple of hours to do now that i know what i'm doing, but it takes a lot of patience. I packed all the new trunion bearings before i started the tear down, made things a bit easier and smoother during the actual install just having everything on a roll around to slap together. The hub gears can be a b!#ch but not too bad. i had more trouble getting the spring set back in the hub dial. eitherway...good luck with the build and enjoy the longfields
