Thanks for the info.I found a used warn xd9000 w/rope that I made a offer on,so we will see?
i run a warn m8000 on my 85 runner a friend has a m6000 on his 84 toy p/u and we both love em his m6000 will not pull a burried chevy in snow but an 8000 will. I would go no smaller than a 8000lb winch, Iand as my friends at fwp say "friends dont let friends buy mile markers."

I have had a Mile Marker SE9500 for a year and It is the most powerful winch I'v ever used. The Warn 8000 can't touch it. My  warn 8,000 had a solonoid failure so I gave it away and bought the M.M., which I outfitted with ORO x-line. This bad boy has a 3/8" x 100 ft. rope. The warn had a TINY rope by comparison. That alone says something to me... Sure the M.M. may be a chicago electric which are very inexpensive, but this just means both a front and rear winch are just over the price of that Warn.
