Seriously doubt broken springs would be Chevy's, they are much larger than any Toy springs.  Axle wrap has not been an issue w/chevy's because of their size.  When I put mine on I created a front perch that is pie shaped so that any rocks that would get hung up on the perch glide up a ramp instead.  With long travel shocks I am currently getting about 24" of rear wheel travel with no axle wrap.  I use the Chevy shackle connected to a heavy duty after market shackle (can't think of the brand right now) connected to the frame.
