I planned on getting 40" Rockers that are 16.5 wide so I welded rings to 15x10s. Well plans changed so I ended up running my 38x12.50 TSLs and have not had a problem. The tire actually went flat and I drove on it that way for quite a while and the inner bead held. I have run the combination over some really wicked trails and surprisingly they held up fine. I agree it is not ideal but I don't think it would be the end of the world. I personally would not hesitate to run a 14" tire on a beadlocked 10" wide wheel.
