Re: tacoma SAS with toyota axle?

Thinking on retiring my 91 toyota D.D. and starting over with a 99 tacoma ex cab with the 3rz 5 speed. My toy axles are built with lockers front and rear and 5.29's so i'd like to be able to use the front axle and maybe the rear third if it'll fit.

Bascily does a w56 bolt up to the w59 bellhousing from the taco to give me the passenger drop needed?

Also would my 8" third fit the taco rear axle?

For the front width difference i'm just going to run my IFS wheel hubs then my 1.5" spacers and that should give me the 60" to match the rear. Add some 30 spliners and i think the axle will hold up for a while.

I can't remember for sure if the W56 will bolt up to the W59, but for some reason it seems like it will??? Just remember, you'll have a weaker transmission. Your rear 3rd WILL NOT BOLT UP, PERIOD, END OF STORY! You can use the rear ring and pinion on an e-locker 3rd member, but a 3RZ w/ a TRUE TRD package is EXTREMELY RARE. The stock rear Tacoma 3rd is much stronger than what you've got anyway, so why mess w/ it? Just get a lunchbox locker, slap it in and call it done. Or you could always go w/ an ARB ;).
