You can drill the original shear pins at the slip yolk out. After you drill them out the shaft will extend far enough to hook up to the box.
You will need to drill new holes and intall a roll pin to keep the shaft from falling apart.
My box is moved as far forward as it would go and the stock shaft was still long enough.
