I have a 8274 on my 85 runner and it works awesome I bought it and it wasn't working for 100.00 I spend like 90 bucks thru Warn and have been using it for about 6yrs now no other problems.
I would reccomend replacing the battery cable though I went to the welding shop and bought 1/0 weilding cable for mine when I was rebuilding it, I figured the more voltage getting to it with the least amount of resistance was better.
