Pull the boot off and this is what you'll see
The end of the connector in the boot. You can see it will slide over the blade connector on the regular idiot light sender.
Also this, the side of the same connector:
It has a slot in one side.
The the round disc and pin slide down inside the connector, 90° to what you would expect.
hard to tell in this pic, but the connector "lays flat" across the top of the sending unit, parallel to the engine block.
It will look and feel odd, like it wont stay on, but it will. The boot will help keep it secured.
Toyota usually has a mentality of using common parts across models, to keep things simple and inexpensive.
Kinda odd, how they designed this one connector to be used on two different connections, yet its on a pigtail. Meaning basically, there is the extra connector 6 inches upstream away from the sender. just kinda odd...but I guess there is probably a good reason why they did it.
