Coolant temp sensor?

Quote
Question -
We just installed a rebuilt 22RE in our 4Runner and have a mystery wire we believe (according to a wire chart) is a two wire lead to a "thermo sw".  Wire is in the loom between the #2 and #3 injectors i.e. central intake manifold, but we can't find the "thermo sw" to hook it to.  Any help would REALLY be apprecisted.

I think what you are talking about is the water temp sensor fot the ECU, it should be located on the thermostat housing, it has two pin connectors, the connector from the wire harness should be green and has two wires, I do not have a 1988 wiring diagram but I have one for a 4cyl 1990, the wire colors are different to the sensor.
