hey blackdiamond would you say it would be safe to put the detroit tru-trac lsd in the front with stock 27 spliners, or is it still a nessesity to put 30 spline chromoly longs in...this will be with 35x1250s, mainly dd but a couple times a month hitting the trails

I ran the limited slip front with 4.88 gears, 33 inch tires and a 4.70 transfer case for a couple of trips to Moab without any problems.  I have a conservative driving style so even though I run the hard trails I treat the truck really well (i.e. no wot, hopping, etc...).  I'm not sure how much difference the 35's would make.  I didn't break anything.
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Moab Tested & Rubicon Approved
