get your drums turned. any auto parts store can do it for like 10 to 15 bucks.  Check them for any cracks, scores or scratches. Same with the rotors. If the shoes are worn down to less than 1/16th inch from the metal backing, they need to be replaced. If the pads are less than 1/8 inch thick they need to be replaced
