If you're used to cruising around 80 than 5.29s are too low. my 5.29's and 35s cruise at 60-65 at 3000 rpm. If you like to be able to go up hills, then 5.29s are good.

I dunno. After doing these gear calulations, I seem to see that my engine gets more oomph at around 3300 rpm. I notice that at 70, I am stuck in 3rd gear (4000 RPM), by 75, I need a split gear, (3000rpm/4500 RPM), and by 80 I can finally hold 4th gear (3250 RPM). 5.29's would put me at 3660, 3920, and 4200 RPMs in 4th gear, at 70,75, and 80 respectivally, and 3110, 3332, and 3554 RPM in 5th gear.  4.88's will put me at 3375, 3616, and 3858 in 4th gear, and 2969, 3074 and 3279 in 5th gear.  SO, it looks like I couldnt be able to cruse as i would like with 4.88's, and 5.29's would be alitle high with RPM's at 80.

And yes, I am used to crusing on the highway between 75-80.  I am happy that now after the new exhaust, I can. (whoever put a 2.25" header, to a 2" cat, to a 1.5" cat back on my 4runner should have been shot).
