Castrol Super Clean is your friend.  It will take any polish, grease, tar4nish etc off of aluminum.  I use it like its going out of style on everything!  If the wheels are clear coated it will not etch the wheel at all it will just clean them.  If they are unfinished it will take everything down to its raw alloy state.  Then all you need to do is polish tem with mothers etc as Kyota suggested.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??
