Make sure you use a non-chlorinated cleaner, such as non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Spray it down letting the pressure of the spray do all the cleaning. Once it looks clean, stop spraying and let it air dry. I shake it around and then wave it back and forth letting the wind dry it down.

Make sure to hold it right-side up, like how it is mounted into your air intake system. Spray the wires from underneath the unit. That way you can prevent any liquid from entering the circuitry of the unit.
