If you read the description for the video on youtube.com, it says the following:

Quote
Marlin shows up at the trailhead of John Bull in Big Bear, Ca with his CRAWLER truggy with a busted front ring gear and still wheeled the hardest trail in 2wd.

Marlin broke his front ring gear while positioning the Crawler Truck for a photo shoot before the event began. He was backing up a hill over some rocks and he got hung up on the front axle. The camera guy from 4X4 Builder really wanted the shot so Marlin tried getting the front axle over the rock three times, and on the third time, it went POW!!

That front end has been in there since around 2000 and when we were prototyping the rear disco, we did numerous front burn outs and drove the truck around town and on the freeway for a week off just the front end. I'm not sure how much that stressed the ring gear, but combined with the fact that Marlins rig typically weighs a good 5000 pounds (a whole ton more than mine) I know those axles have gone through hell and back. :yesnod:

Here is the picture of where Marlin had his rig positioned.

It is pathetic that I have to say this, but here is the disclaimer for this photo: This is on the shoulder of a road that is located on private land for a mining claim.

I have all of the Photos from the Big Bear run that I still need to upload :inthedark:
