What about those old Chevy and GMC trucks, like the k2500s (early 70s to mid 80s).  There's lots of them in junkyards and they had dana 44s in the front I think and GM 12 bolt out back.  The 1 ton versions (k3500) had dana 60s up front I believe.  The dana 44/GM 12 bolt would probably be a pretty stout and cheap setup.  They're not the strongest axles out there, but under a light truck like a Tacoma they should be more than enough.  Maybe upgrade shafts and u joints like was already stated above.
