Just wait till you get him out in the field, RS. You don't actually think he needs his tools around to be creative now do you?
Oh I don't doubt that he could take the handle of a highlift and make an axle out of it in the field (we have), but they are calling his shop wizardry a Mc Gyver like operation when he has all the tools, all I'm saying is what he does in the shop is not. What I'd call him in the shop is a Mad Scientist.
