The cryo-ing isnt the issue on highway rigs. Its the heat treating. I imagine it has something to do with the gears getting hot from going that fast. Maybe they dont like to be heated up too much after getting baked by Bobby? I still cant think of a reason why.
Isn't part of the break in on a differential include several cycles of heating and cooling that produces a "heat treat" affect? Maybe this process simple reverses the cryo process?
