nope V6 5spd!

Fluid,  I put fresh synthetic in it about a year ago, maybe it scrubbed all the sludge out of the bearings/syncros, now they are loose? ( not sure of the trucks history for the first 90k of its life)   I'll try the heavier oil first then save my pennies for one of marlins units with a lower gear set!

I have heard that Toyota transmission were designed for GL-4 gear oil and that GL-5 can be too "slick" for the syncros.  Redline MT90 claims to have the right amount of friction for the syncros.

I have read that using Redline gets rid of the "cold" shift issues in the transmissions as well.  Redline is expensive, so I am considering trying to find a dino GL-4 (not GL-5) in the future and see if it helps my 3-2 downshift and 1-2 upshift.

Hopefully someone else knows more about this?  :dunno:
