Hi, i have a 1980 toyota 4x4 shortbox 4 speed 20r, i wana upgrade it quite a bit, do you think this would be a awesome 4x4 that can be verry capable.
this is what i want to do to it
- Longfeild 4340 30 spline chromoly axels
- 5.29 yukon gears
- aussie locker in the front and welded rear.
- 38 inch interco TSL Swampers
- chevy 63 inch springs with marlin crawler 4 inch front springs
- 1 or 2 inch body lift
what do you guys think
You didn't say if it will be a Daily Driver or not.
(1) 30-Spline Longfields
(2) 5.29 Yukon Gears
(3) Aussie Locker front
& Welded rear
I would spend the coin and get a pair of Aussie's.
(4) 38 inch tires
I wouldn't go larger than 36 or 37, with your short wheelbase you should be fine.
(5) Marlin/Chevy springs
I have very little experience with either...
(6) 1" Body lift
You can hide 1", but 2" starts looking ghetto in my opinion

Don't forget transfer case gears, they are Lucky #1
