Re: cast aluminum oil pan for 22R?

Thanks all. I guess I was barking up the wrong tree. I just put an aluminum tranny pan on my girlfriend's F250, and it looks cool and is STIFF, plus holds a couple extra quarts (that trans takes FOUR GALLONS of ATF!). I just know Toy oil pans (and sheetmetal in general) are pretty dang thin, and have a tendency to warp, so I was looking into an upgrade. I'm not gonna be rock-crawling, or anything more serious than off-road bush-bombing; we have twenty wooded acres and the Toy is PERFECT for getting into the tight spots. WAY better than an ATV or buggy, and you can drive it into town for beer runs too. I'll probably just add an oil cooler and/or remote filter instead.

FYI I bought the engine from 'John's Foreign Engines' on EBay. John was GREAT to work with. I asked for a custom painted engine (long story), and he built one up special; he said they look better without the freezeplugs painted, so he started from scratch. Class act all the way.

Rock On!

c.
