I notice on a competitors site they recommend a 86-88 box for the 79-85 trucks but say you can use a 89-95 box if you wish.  Whats the difference?  Any reason to use one over the other?

Both boxes are mechanically the same, the benifit of getting one of the 89-95(on the right) boxes, is that the input shaft and casing are longer, so when your axle is pushed forward, you don't have the lengthen your steering shaft. With the 86-88 box you have to cut the steering shaft and weld it back together at a longer length(there are other options, depending on the year of your truck).
Hope this helps
