i always liked the idea of doing a 231 swap, but they're kinda funky engines. i don't think that anybody's touched on the fact that they're lighter than the 4.3 as well.
i think the main problems were head gaskets and the oiling system is kind of wierd. i did a bit of research into the swap a few years ago.
