I run a converter out of a 86 buick regal. I know it sounds stupid but the cars were sorta heavy and underpowered, so they came with higher stall converters. Mine stalls out at about 2-2200. The more torque you put to a converter the higher it will stall. That is why everyone used to use 8" converters out of vegas in drag cars. The vega had a 4 cyl. so it had a higher stall put that same setup behind a healthy V8 and your talking about a 4-5k stall speed!!
