In summer heat, and heavy service situtations, I have received some complaints. However, once the truck is up to speed, and the trans-Marlin box-rear t/case cools down, the smell will go away.
Cheap gear oil, torn shifter boots, leaking valve covers, new exhaust stystem, ect., are possible other causes. :psss:
