The larger V6 diff is still called a 8 inch which is the same as a 4 cyl.

Since it has larger, thicker pinion bearings, it must use a shorter crush sleeve.
It has longer pinion teeth but the same size ring gear.
The carrier has larger bearings and features 4 spider gears with a cross shaft.

It has 9 external ribs instead of 7 found on the 4 cylinder unit which makes it much more rigid.
Since they both have the same bolt pattern and drive line attachment, it is a direct bolt in.
