Thanks BD, but there is more than just the 4 bolts on the plate, and takin those off I don't think is happening. I tried bangin on the plate with a wrench, didn't make a difference
Ya gotta wedge something between the plate and the diff and bang on it (screwdriver, wrnch handle, piece of pipe) ya don't bang on the plate itself silly
ok, I'm going to try this. This is essentially what a 'yoat CV looks like ---0---0--- the 0's are the "joints" covered by the boots. The two end pieces go into the hub and into the diff. There are bolts holding the two axle "plates" onto the mid section of the CV. you really don't need to disconnect those bolts to get them out.
hub side is loose ---0---0--- diff side is not.
^ plate is here, from here to the right is in the diff. Wedge something here, and then use it to pry the plate away from the diff. that should work, I've done it on my half shafts a lot. If you don't get it by tommorow, I'll take photos as I do it and post them up for you. It should all come out as one piece. if you do it right.
