Verified on another site that the tranny is a R151F:

An alternative to the MC adapter from a company in Australia...

What transfer case you have can be identified by the location of the rear output from your transfer case. If it's centered, you have the hilux case.  If it's offset, you have the 'split' style Landcruiser case.  It seems most likely that you have the land cruiser split case considering the donor.

You can sort through some of the info here:

Sooo.... to answer your questions.

Quote
1) How different (& similar) are the 86-87 turbo 4-Runner R151Fs from the 2001 Land Cruiser HZJ79 Pick-Up's R151Fs?
They are basically the same, but came with different transfer cases.

2) Will the single or dual transfer case (4.70:1) from Marlin suit the HZJ79's transfer case?
In a word, no.

) What's the spline count of the output shaft on HZJ79's R151F transfer case?
not sure on that one...
Quote
4) Is HZJ79's transfer case considered a 'split-style' transfer case?
Yes
Quote
5) Stock low ratio on HZJ79's transfer case is 2.295:1, is this identical to U.S. R151F turbo trucks?
I think it's pretty much the same, yeah (2.28 ish)

6) Are ratios on U.S. R151F turbo trucks different than non-USA R151F such as HZJ79?
US: 1st-4.31 2nd-2.74 3rd-1.93 4th-1.00 5th-0.83 R-4.23
Yours: 1st-4.31 2nd-2.33 3rd-1.44 4th-1.00 5th-0.84 R-4.22
...approximately

7) On Marlin's website, "to I.D. a gear-driven TC, just count the bolts- 5 is chain driven & 7 is gear driven". I counted mine & it has 6 bolts!!! So is this a chain or gear-driven transfer case?
If you do really have the split case, this discrepancy is not surprising.  The cruiser case is still gear driven, however.

What is the deepest gear available in a low range transfer case available at Marlins' for the R151F?
4.7  I think someone makes a 5.0, but it's rumored to be weaker.

So what you'd need to do is get two 23 spline transfer cases identical to the us cases behind the R151F.  You can probably find these where you are, just look for the centered t-case output.  One case would be made into a 'crawl box', and the other would attach to the back.  You could order a dual ultimate from marlin, just like you would for a US R151F.  This may present a problem, however, if you're running an offset diff'd rear axle.  You would want to figure out if it caused problems, or convert to an axle with a centered diff.

So, that's all I got.  I hope it's right,  :crossed: .  Get those pictures coming :_order:
