So I made some measurements with differing heights measured using the fork lift to achieve max. articularion (empty bed, at the point when the drivers tire would just begin to lift off the ground), and here are the results:

Old Style     No Shocks     New Style
Vertical Distance from Ground-To-Inner-U-Bolt34 1/2"36 1/2"36 1/8"
Length of Shock Showing on Compressed Side (Pass.)3 1/2"N/A1 3/16"
Length of Shock Showing on Extended Side (Drivers)7 5/8"N/A6"
Vertical Distance from Center Pin to Bump Stop on Extended Side13 3/8"13 1/2"13 1/4"
Vertical Distance from Center Pin to Bump Stop on Compressed Side   7 5/8"6 3/4"7 1/4"

So from that data, you can see that I have gained 1 5/8" of articulation out of my rear suspension!!!! That's just over 1.5"
And without any shocks, it got a whole 2" of more articulation. This shows that there must still be some kind of binding going on, since the Bilsteins are pressurised, one shock cancells out the other (assuming absolute equal valving and pressure), and I know that there is still an issue with the angle that the top shock mounts are at. They are pointing up slightly, above the horizon.....
