i'm gonna try it with my 3" downey springs.  i'm just gonna put bumpstops in at a level just above the tie rod, to keep it from smacking the frame under compression.

i think mounting of the box has a lot to do with it too, get it as far forward as you can and tilt it back to make sure the pitman arm will clear the springs.
