I think he has a couple better options than trying to find an old bronco front axle. First I'm assuming you mean the mini ranger, not the full size, I hate when companies re-use names in their products for totally different vehicles. If he wants to stay around the same track width I would say he'd be way better off gettin a toy front axle and have better clearance, just put a few bucks in it if he plans on hammering it hard. If he wants to go a little wider but not totally full size he'd have a much easier time finding a full size(really more mid size) cherokee d44 front axle and go from there.
