Your battery terminals tight and clean.  :dunno: 
Mine does it all the time when I am in the mud, I have crappy cable ends that come loose all the time and it will click the same way.

Also if your starter ever mis-engages and grinds, you can re-engage it by putting it in gear and bumping it back and forth.
