Ok! Back on track. Is the rear axle in this 91 2wd 22re other than the fact that its a five lug, smaller in any way than a 4wd rear axle.
Here is what I have been thinking, taking the rear axle out of my 86 4-runner and installing it in the 91 2wd, then going to the junk yard an find some 1/2 ton 2wd chev spindles, making it six lug all around.
The 4wd axle should have lower gears right
. Then using the chevy spindles they will be much stronger and provide some lift, then I will gather a lot of tubing and begin many hours of trial and error in fabricating some longer A-arms.
Also I was thinking, since i dont have they 3k G's to dump into coilovers and bypass shocks ( which would be sick ) I was thinking of making it so I could run coil springs up front untill I could afford better stuff. What do you think?
First thing is first, I must get the 91 running, hence it needs a motor. The motor will come from my 85 SR5 EFI. Then, once it is running I could start som fab Work.
What do you guy's think?
Any opinions or advice would be awsome. Thanks
