Wife got NEW(04) Taco 4xDC :driving:and wants to take it 'up a little'. V6, no front hubs. Anyone know how much lift it can take before blowing the front CV's? Best lift available?
My sis has an 02 Taco, Quad Cab , 4x4 Automatic
installed a FABTECH 3.5 Kit (its a re-Buildable coil over FOX Shock) in the front.
** the advertised Max sizes (Tires) is: 33x11.50 in a 16x7 , according to Fabtech.
I ended up installing a Super Swamper SSR 31X12.50 in a American Eagle 16x8 wheel
.
it looks real nice, with Wide Stance ..
the height is just perfect for her, since I was concerned about increasing the center of gravity too much.
cons: even if the slight size increase in Tire size and Ride height, i still experienced the well known
torque decrease on going uphill, and aceleration drag.
it actually feels like a very suttle Clutch Slide.
it still runs good on city driving, but be warned it uses up more gas.
I hope to get it re-geared for her in the future..
due to fat tire configuration, i get a slight tire rub, this can be easily fixed by a small amount
of fender trim.
Pros: I had thought that the Tacos are very feminined looking, but after i have performed the
3.5 Fabtech lift on my sister's truck, it actually looks great.
i can't wait to get a used Taco myself and work on a taller lift project on it ..
