New K&n's come pre-oiled, looks pink.  Too much oil and it could fly off and affect down stream air flow sensors.  Oil good - lots of oil bad.  Filter should NOT drip.  I wouldn't use anthing else!!
Some idiots are too busy knowing it all, to ever learn anything...
